Humber Shores, Lake Ontario

My favourite place in Ontario is along the Humber Shores area in the west end of Toronto that runs West of Windermere to just east of Royal York.

It is a city within a city: a park within a city. Along its shores lies the Martin-Goodman Trail.

Cyclists, runners and walkers abound as they enjoy beautiful Lake Ontario and the various habitats such as the indigenous plants, the butterflies and a variety of fowl: swans, ducks, great blue herons; and, on occasion, the industrious beaver.

Where else, but in the City of Toronto can one enjoy such diversity? Although for me, the are is just steps from home, I feel like I’m in another world. It’s always a great adventure and a great escape from the everyday.
